*Grand Prix Solo/Duo/Small Group

The past four years we have attended the Youth America Grand Prix. “YAGP” is a dance competition that takes place out of state every winter.  The competition includes a workshop with ballet and contemporary classes.  This season we are holding auditions for Student Company members ages 10 and older who wish to compete at YAGP or another event like it.  Everyone auditioning will perform a ballet variation that will be taught during the company audition.  Dancers will also need to prepare a short solo showcasing their technique. Solos should not be longer than one minute thirty seconds.  You will be judged on your technique and performance quality (not the choreography) and you may be chosen to compete a solo, duo or small group. Participants in YAGP are responsible for their own transportation and all fees associated with the competition including costumes and registration fees.  Dancer’s participating in a solo/duo/small group will be required to attend Saturday technique class.  Rehearsals will mostly be held on Saturdays.  The prices for choreography are as follows:
Classical Ballet Variation: $200.00
This fee includes one hour of rehearsal to learn the variation and two additional thirty minute rehearsals.  Additional rehearsals will cost $30.00 per half hour.
Contemporary Solo: $350.00
This fee includes learning a piece of original choreography and two additional hour long rehearsals.  Additional rehearsals will cost $30.00 per half hour.
Small Group: TBD
